Season 1 of The Book of Boba Fett has come to an end. The show had answered one of the biggest questions everyone was asking. How did Boba survive the fall into the Sarlacc pit from Return of the Jedi? It also detailed how he survived in the desert after his great escape. Through the help of some Tusken Raiders, Boba Fett had recovered and went on his path of revenge. But not before growing into a wiser person.

As the new Daimyo of Tatooine, Fett had a few things he needed to do before he could put his feet up; the Pykes, spice, and feuding families had threatened his new territory. As we explored his new life and how he planned to take control, we also got to catch up with Din Djarin, the star of The Mandalorian. We had last seen him when he handed Grogu over to Luke Skywalker so that he could be with his kind.

As we caught up with Djarin, The Book of Boba Fett also included characters like The Armorer, Peli Motto, Luke, Ahsoka, and R2-D2. These classic characters blended into the story brilliantly. The show even gave Djarin a new ship. The modded-out N-1 starfighter is his new ride, and although it doesn’t have the room of the Razorcrest, it has the speed to get Djarin and Grogu where they need to go and quickly. It looks like he won’t be able to load up blocks of carbonite anymore, either. What could that mean for him? Find out here

On the same day as the finale for The Book of Boba Fett, Disney announced the official release for Kenobi, which will drop on Disney+ on May 25th. That is the same day A New Hope was released in theaters in 1977. This exciting news also hints at when we can expect to see more of Djarin and Grogu.

With the early part of the summer now booked with Kenobi, Disney won’t place the two headliner shows back-to-back. Because of that, The Mandalorian most likely won’t return until later in the year, most likely November/December.

Spacing out the shows forces more users to stay subscribed throughout the year. The Bad Batch is already confirmed to premiere in Spring of 2022, so the front end of the year is already fully booked. There is no room for The Mandalorian until later in the year.

The Mandalorian originally premiered in November, so it makes sense that it would return to its previous slot. It was skipped to make way for The Book of Boba Fett’s premiere in December 2021, and there has not been a confirmation for a second season yet.

Andor is also set to release in 2022 and will most likely release in late Summer or early Fall. The spy-thriller will take place pre-Rogue One with a scheduled number of 12 episodes. There has not been as much excitement around Andor, when compared to Kenobi or The Mandalorian, so it would make the most sense for Disney to put it in between those two more popular shows.

Kenobi and Andor‘s timelines are far from The Mandalorian, so don’t expect any crossovers there. Realistically, it looks like we won’t see our knight in shining armor again until late this year. At least until then, we can rest easy knowing that Djarin and Grogu are reunited. Grogu is even more protected with his new beskar chain mail shirt, so they’ll be okay until then.

It looks like 2022 will be a stacked year. We’ve had The Book of Boba Fett and can look forward to The Bad Batch, Kenobi, Andor, The Mandalorian, and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

  1. If there’s any pattern to the weeks following The Book of Boba Fett and if Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor have a similar amount of episodes, then we can expect Andor by the end of September and Mandalorian by the end of January 2023.

  2. I think that Mandalorian season 3 will be available at the middle of 2023, because they have a lot fo work, with Kenobi, Lego Star wars The skywalker saga, Star wars eclipse, Andor, a possibility of Ahsoka and more things.
