Back in December, Disney had announced a new show, The Book of Boba Fett. They had surprised everyone when The Mandalorian season finale featured a scene of Boba Fett and Fennec Shand going into Jabba the Hutt’s palace and killing the new leader, Bib Fortuna, and just about everyone else inside. Boba then proceeded to take the throne of the now-deceased ex-crimelord. That is what solidified him as the leader of the Tatooine crime underworld.
The show will premiere on Disney Plus in December 2021.

WHAT IS IT?
Temuera Morrison will star in this show about the infamous bounty hunter, Boba Fett. There is a lot of mystery around how he survived the Sarlacc pit, and so the show will hopefully explore just how he did it and how the Jawas got a hold of his armor.
There was some confusion around the show due to the way it premiered, but it is separate from The Mandalorian. As Din Djarin delivered Grogu to Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, his quest to return the child is now complete. Some fans thought that the show would end there and The Book of Boba Fett would take its place, but that is not the case.
Pedro Pascal will return as the Mandalorian for a highly anticipated third season. The premiere of season three will be after The Book of Boba Fett, which added to the confusion.
WHAT is the plot?
The Book of Boba Fett will explore much of Boba Fett’s life. As seen in the preview given at the end of The Mandalorian Chapter 16, Boba Fett had just seized control of Jabba’s palace, and the rest of Tatooine will soon follow. The show will more than likely follow Boba’s adventures as he rises in the crime world. It could be similar to Maul’s rise in power and his efforts to control the Star Wars underworld, or Boba could stay on Tatooine and take over the planet and more.
There is also the possibility that Boba will fly across the galaxy with his new partner and take revenge on anyone who wronged him. Like all the people who left him out in the desert to die. Now that Boba is back in his armor and ready to take on any foe, there is a very good chance that we will see more of Boba in action, very similar to what we saw in The Mandalorian. As a refresher, Boba smashed a few Stormtrooper helmets with ease.

But, it has been confirmed that it won’t be all about Boba’s future. The star of the show spoke to Rotten Tomatoes in June and leaked some information.
Temuera Morrison said:
“We’re going to see his past and where he’s been since The Empire Strikes Back. Somebody pointed out he’s been kind of stuck in this one place, and now’s the time to go back in time and check out his journey and find out more about him.”
He couldn’t reveal any more than that, but this means we will return to an Empire-controlled galaxy at points of the show. That means we may see Darth Vader, Luke, Dengar, and many other characters from the Original Trilogy.
WHO IS BEHIND THE SHOW?
The show is definitely in good hands. The executive producers behind The Mandalorian, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, are developing the show. The director behind the Fett-centered episode, Chapter 14, Robert Rodriguez, is also a producer. His episode was well received by fans as he proved to know Star Wars, Boba Fett, and his story.Â

Filming for the show began back in November, and Temuera Morrison confirmed in June that it had officially wrapped. The Sandcrawler had reported on the show around the same time it started filming. That is another prediction correct.
There is no indication of a second season yet. We will wait to see how the first season unfolds and see what the story has to offer. The idea that the show will jump from pre-ROTJ and post-ROTJ will be an intriguing story to follow. It will have plenty to offer with different possibilities for storylines as we see how Boba Fett built a name for himself before his demise and how he rose to the top after recovering his armor.
Are you excited about this spin-off series? It seems like it will expand on Boba’s story and how he became the infamous bounty hunter that we know and love. Comment down below or on the Facebook group.
