Halloween falls on Sunday this year, so you’ll have the weekend to sit back, relax, and prepare for some Star Wars fright. Here are the top 5 scariest episodes from the franchise:

5. LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales

LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales

We’ll kick off the countdown with the new Halloween special. In this spooky special, we get a glimpse into some of the darker Star Wars stories, like an Imperial Luke Skywalker. The story takes place on Mustafar inside one of the scariest places in the galaxy, Darth Vader’s castle. An ambitious Hutt has taken up the task of renovating the location and turning it into a hotel destination to explore the darker side of the universe. Poe makes an emergency landing on the planet where he meets the castle’s permanent resident, Vaneé. There, Vaneé shares three scary tales that are a twist on the Star Wars universe. This episode was made for Halloween as Vaneé embraces the dark energy that remains in the castle.

4. Star Wars: Rebels “The Mystery of Chopper Base”

Episode 20 out of season 2 of Rebels features massive monsters known as the Krykna. These giant spiders are blaster resistant and love to take their prey to their underground lairs to be devoured. This frightening tale of the rebels’ desperate search for a haven is a suspenseful and thrilling adventure. Many fans shy away from Rebels due to the childish animation style, but this episode may change your mind. The show incorporates the wildlife of Star Wars into the show and allows the viewers to look at it in a new light. Though, this may make you fearsome of the monsters the franchise has to offer.

3. Star Wars: The Clone Wars “Massacre”

The Clone Wars

War within the dark Forces of the Star Wars universe has been unleashed. Season 4 Episode 19 takes place on one of the most frightening planets in the galaxy, Dathomir. After Asajj Vantress and Count Dooku’s falling out (thanks to Sidious), Asajj seeks revenge through assassination with the help of the Nightsisters. Their plan to kill Dooku fails, and in this episode, he uses Grievous to get his revenge. The episode is filled with dark magic, voodoo, and even zombies. The Nightsisters awaken the undead army of Nightsisters to help protect their planet, and Mother Talzin displays her powers in dark magic with a voodoo doll of Dooku.

2. The Mandalorian “The Prisoner”

The Mandalorian

Episode 6 of season 1 is more of a thriller than a horror episode. Din Djarin plays a deadly game of cat and mouse with a gang of mercenaries. Their sour past gets in the way once aboard a New Republic Prison Transport, and things go downhill. Djarin distrusts them so much that he even hides Grogu somewhere in the ship. The episode features an eerie background with flashing lights, red hallways, and a desire for revenge. The suspense doesn’t stop building the entire episode. Who will make it out of this twisted maze alive?

1. Star Wars: The Clone Wars “Brain Invaders”

The Clone Wars

Episode 8 in season 2 is an exciting episode that features brain worms, zombies, and a diabolical plan to seek revenge. This episode features Geonosis, the location where the Clone Wars started, but the planet looks much different. The Geonosians have been wiped out, but thanks to these brain worms, they can be brought back from the dead. The worms wreak havoc on the Jedi and clone troopers, and it is up to Ahsoka to save the day and figure out the mystery of how to defeat the worms without killing her friends. This episode tops the list as the scariest, creepiest, and most frightening Star Wars episode.

Honorable Mention

The Bad Batch

An honorable mention is The Bad Batch season 1 episode 7, “Battle Scars.” This is an exciting episode that involves Wrecker and the chip. He becomes the Star Wars version of the Hulk, and the bad batch has to try and contain the beast to save him before he joins the Empire. Speaking of beasts, it also features a massive tentacled monster that is a beautiful callback to the Dianoga from A New Hope.
