Kenobi Series Reveals Working Title and is Reaffirmed

First off, I would like to mention that the Sandcrawler Blog has been featured on Feedspot’s Top 30 List of Star Wars Blogs, and I would like to thank everyone who has helped to make this happen. Star Wars has always been a passion of mine and I am happy I get to share that with all of you. Now, back to the news.

Obi-Wan Kenobi series confirmed and moving forward as production will begin in January 2021.

Disney+ plans to release another two live-action Star Wars shows. The immense success of The Mandalorian has shown the potential that these shows have. Fans are already dying for season two to come out and now with filming finished, all we can do is wait.

And waiting is all we can do for the Obi-Wan series to begin production in January 2021, but at least we now have a working title for the show. Thanks to our friends at HN Entertainment who reported that the working title for the show is going to be “Pilgrim”. An interesting title for the show gives an interesting concept for what we may expect to come. We know Obi-Wan stayed back on Tatooine to help protect a young Luke, so what does this pilgrimage mean?

Judging by the title, Obi-Wan will be traveling the galaxy in secrecy looking for important Jedi temples and artifacts as he looks for hope in a galaxy that has wiped out and forgotten about the Jedi. Will his pilgrimage take him to the Holy City of Jedha, an important place for the Jedi? Or perhaps some other ancient Jedi city that’s been long forgotten. Do you think we may see some of the temples and planets that Cal explored in Fallen Order? Or will they introduce some new planets and places like they did in The Mandalorian

This can bring a lot more to the show than Obi-Wan simply staying on Tatooine and evading the Empire. As he travels on his “Pilgrimage” he will be able to bring whoever may be hunting him on a chase through the galaxy and away from Tatooine. It makes sense for him to leave and make the planet seem unimportant.

Bob Iger at the Walt Disney Company’s Q1 earnings had reaffirmed that the Kenobi series and the Cassian Andor series is still, in fact, officially moving forward. Deborah Chow is set to direct the show and as stated earlier, production won’t start until January 2021. The rest of the details on the show are vague and they have not announced when the show will release on Disney+. For now, we can look forward to the second season of The Mandalorian in October.

Thank you for reading and may the force be with you.

  1. The bad news; there are only 23 Star Wars blogs out there. O_O

    Probably more like 2300 LOL

The series has potential. I’d agree that Fallen Order and the show can piggy back ideas for each other also (JFO2 is confirmed in development). As with Mandalorian’s release, I’m nervously optimistic. Disney really trashed the franchise in it’s sequels, but did a nice turn around in Mandalorian and Fallen Order. Let’s hope that’s a true reversal, not a fluke.

      1. Preliminary indications seem to be leaning that way. I think one indicator would be how many people from Mandalorian are also going to be working on this project. Not sure there myself.

Anyway, let’s keep our fingers crossed and charge our blue lantern rings, LOL.
