The Kenobi series has gotten word that is has received a new writer, Joby Harold, as well as going through so rewrites to touch up the story and script. With everything going on and all of us stuck indoors, it looks like the series is going to be pushed back some more. At least we’re finally getting an idea of a release date, right?

The series is not set to premiere on Disney+ until 2022 and the Cassian Andor series will be ready to premiere in 2021. Disney released the information in a press release as they prepare to release Disney+ in France, April 7th.

The indication Disney gives is that the Kenobi series is still of paramount importance and that they are doing everything they can to get the series on TV. Chow, who directed episodes of The Mandalorian, will be leading the director’s team and Ewan McGregor is still onboard to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the new show, along with the second season of The Mandalorian. We will be able to check-in with Djarin and Baby Yoda in November so we all are looking forward to that. Favreau and Filoni are working hard at getting it ready as filming has officially finished. At least everything needed to be done for the show will be on computers and won’t be delayed as we social distance.

Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk will be reprising their roles as Cassian Andor and K-2SO. The show is in the works as well and will show a different side of Star Wars, something more similar to the spy genre of Rogue One.

With the effort to get the Kenobi Series moving forward we can only hope for now that the series will get ahead of the 2022 schedule, or at least come out early in the year. This is one of the most anticipated live-action shows that are set to come out.
When do you guys think the show will hit Disney+? Thank you for reading and may the force be with you.
