Some great news has surfaced about the Kenobi series and it looks like the project will be moving forward and is set to get back on track. The highly anticipated show, ever since the Kenobi movie fell through, has had some delays, rewrites, and some other work done to it. But, it looks like we’ll be getting a very talented writer for the job.

Joby Harold, who is known for producing John Wick: Chapter 3 has gotten the gig. He’s had some big jobs, but it looks like this will be one of his biggest. He will be reevaluating the story they want to tell and will work with Deborah Chow, as she is the main director for the series. We are all eager to see what he is going to do with Kenobi and how he will spend his time on Tatooine.

The working title for the show, Pilgrim, indicates Kenobi venturing out into the galaxy to find Jedi artifacts and temples as he searches for answers in the galaxy. With the Jedi Purge that we all know he endured, his faith in the force would have definitely suffered and this pilgrimage can be him seeking his faith. We won’t know until the show premieres and unfortunately there is no set release date.

Some of Harold’s work also includes King Arthur (2017) and Robin Hood (2018). He also co-wrote Army of the Dead, Zack Snyder’s upcoming zombie movie that will come out on Netflix. Harold has some experience under his belt and his creativity will be able to show in the Kenobi series.

Harold will be able to offer a lot to the Kenobi story and his survival on Tatooine as he protects Luke from the Empire. What do you think the show will be about? Thank you for reading and may the force be with you.

This could be good or bad, depending upon how it’s handled. The last thing I want to see is fight scenes that are as unrealistic as a John Wick movie. Mando has gotten a little wild there, but kept things in-bounds enough to stay believable. Primarily thanks to a fight choreographer that seems to have some real world knowledge, AND the lore around Bessimer.
Jedi have alot of tricks up their sleeves when well trained though, so properly written, this could be an exciting and wild ride.
The surrealism will fit a little more with Kenobi, because as you said, they’ve got some tricks up their sleeve. I’m hoping he’ll be able to just run with that, while not going as far as a “dyad” and their abilities lol
