The next Star Wars movie to hit theaters will be the newly announced The Mandalorian and Grogu. In the recent Disney Q1 earnings call, Bob Iger confirmed what movies will be released each year up to 2026. Among those confirmed by Iger is The Mandalorian and Grogu slated to release in theaters in 2026. Though there has not been given an official date, there is speculation that the movie will premiere on May 22, 2026.
The Mandalorian and Grogu will put the two fan-favorite characters on the silver screen, exploring their story even deeper than the series. The world of Star Wars is continuing to grow as we dive into the lives of already-established characters and new ones.
The movie will go into production this year, 2024. However, post-production is expected to take a while due to the Avatar 3 release planned for 2025, along with 5 other major titles. Among those include Zootopia, Snow White, Captain America, Fantastic Four, and Elio. Among the other 2026 releases are Frozen 3 and the new Toy Story.
