Star Wars: Outlaws is one of the most highly anticipated Star Wars announcements yet. Developed by Ubisoft, the open-world game will invite players into the life of an outlaw in a Galaxy far, far away as they explore numerous planets, different missions, and different vehicles. The story will follow Kay Vess as she navigates life between The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi. Initially being teased for release in late 2024, fans can expect to play the game sometime in 2024.

The first teaser was part of a Disney Parks blog post highlighting 24 new things to get excited about in 2024. With plenty to be excited about, the author wrote to expect the game “late 2024.” Ubisoft quickly responded to the error and changed it to the broader 2024 release. Naturally, this makes us wonder where Thomas Smith, the author of this piece and the Editorial Content Director of the Disney Parks blog, got this information.

Star Wars: Outlaws

Perhaps it was exclusive information and a legitimate time frame for Ubisoft to aim for, but they may prefer to keep the broad 2024 release so they do not disappoint fans. And we can all agree that we’d rather wait for the game to be fully complete over an early release.

The Empire, having just captured Han Solo and crippling Luke, is at its height in this story, so there will be plenty of challenges to face against the classic boys in white. The game, first announced in 2021, will have players be in the biggest heist in Galactic history. Move over, Han Solo, as fans will have a chance to try their hand at being the biggest scoundrel in the Galaxy.

Players will get to explore planets like Tatooine, Akiva, and Kijimi. There will be a lot for players to explore, but don’t expect some oversized, unfinishable RPG. Developers have promised a more “focused” and “manageable” game, under the 200-300 hour mark to complete.
