George Lucas’ recent comment “Creating magic is not for amateurs” has apparently been taken seriously by Disney executives. Sources are saying that amid the crisis that is crumbling the House of Mouse, it appears that they have taken an interest in Lucas’ opinion, once again. This time, he will be in an official role. Replacing the current Lucasfilm president, Kathleen Kennedy in order to try and “revive the money-making machine that is Star Wars.” The issue of the creative process has caused the quality of Star Wars to decline over the years, so much so that fans are still upset about the divisive Sequel Trilogy.
It has also been reported that Lucas will immediately begin writing another trilogy, as well as take over all of the current Star Wars projects. The Acolyte has been postponed for reshoots that are more in line with Lucas’ interest in where the story should go, exploring a pivotal time in his Galaxy.
Pedro Pascal is also reported to take the lead role in the next Star Wars trilogy to come out. When asked why, Lucas’ only response was “This is the way.”
