Katee Sackhoff had brought a beloved Clone Wars character to life. She played Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian season two and was part of Din Djarin’s quest to seek out more Mandalorians and find a Jedi to train Grogu. Sackhoff had represented the character perfectly. She was tough, confident, and came across as a battle-hardened Mandalorian warrior.
Bo-Katan was last seen in Star Wars: Rebels, as she was looking to rebuild Mandalore into what it once was. To accomplish her goal, she needs the darksaber, something that Din Djarin, a fellow Mandalorian, now has. Until she can rightfully win the darksaber and take it from Din Djarin, she won’t be recognized as the true leader of Mandalore.
Katee Sackhoff has recently teased that she has some “unfinished business” to take care of for season three. Her quest for the darksaber will most likely keep her as a component of the plot and what Din Djarin will do next. Now that he no longer has Grogu to take care of, he is far more likely to pursue the steps to reestablishing Mandalore and turning it back into what it was before the Empire.
There is also the possibility that Katee Sackhoff could not return as Bo-Katan for the third season. She had shared with /Film, “The way that Lucasfilm left me in Season 2, one of the roads that could be gone down — absolutely, you’d think — would be the unfinished business, but that is so far above my pay grade, and you just don’t know, right? As a fan of the show, I’m just excited to see what they come up with.”
The writers for the show have been successful with keeping things airtight. In season one, we were surprised with Grogu, a new member of Yoda’s species, and in season two, Luke Skywalker’s return had blown everyone away. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have done an incredible job with the first two seasons; no matter where they take us for the third, we fans should feel confident in their story-telling abilities.
