The Cassian Andor series is something a lot of Star Wars fans are looking forward to seeing. We will get a spy-thriller genre out of this show; it will help to give insight into the Rebel spies even further than what Rogue One gave us.
Amid the COVID-19 complications that have been occurring, the Cassian Andor series has gotten a new director. The previous one, Tony Gilroy has stepped down, and Toby Haynes, who directed Black Mirror, will be taking on the role of director for the first three episodes of the series.

Gilroy will remain close to the show as he is an executive producer. The show still does not have an official release date, but it will come out in 2021, along with the Kenobi Series, which is supposed to be only a single season. Unfortunate news for those who were looking forward to an actual series, not a mini-series.
Haynes has a lot of experience in the genre that the Cassian Andor series plans to be. Black Mirror is a thriller type of show on Netflix and has worked on Doctor Who. So, it is fair to say that he some experience in the science-fiction.

The Mandalorian had recently won numerous awards, and with that, there are high hopes for the new projects that Lucasfilm is working on for Disney+.
What are you most excited to see? Thank you for reading and remember, utinni!
Given his background, and the themes of Cassian Andor, I’d say Haynes is potentially an ideal candidate for directing. Some of that will depend on what the producers give him to work with in terms of script, etc… also though.
BTW, you still haven’t posted that second “Squadrons” trailer. Don’t make me post it instead. 😀 I try to leave most of the Star Wars stuff for you.
