The Star Wars retro collection is a must-have for any Star Wars fan who enjoys collecting figures. If not, these are a great starter for building a small or large collection. The Star Wars Retro Collection, which is sold exclusively through Wal-Mart is a reprint of the classic figures that came out 40 years ago.
The collection comes in the 3.75 in figures with the cardiac the exact same as what you would have seen in the stores back when the films first released. The 2019 wave 1 of figures has passed, but wave 2 is readily available, still.
Last week there had been some speculation that the figures were going to stop hitting shelves because the price had been rolled back to $5.98 as opposed to the $9.99. I got lucky at my local Wal-Mart and snagged a Princess Leia (Hoth) for that low price.
Today, June 8, I had stopped into the local Wal-Mart and found that they had the Star Wars section completely restocked with the Star Wars retro figures. There were multiples of every one, except of course Boba Fett and Yoda. To my advantage, being tall, I was able to peak up on top of the shelf and grab two figures that seemed to be stowed away and hidden.
To my surprise it was a Boba Fett and Yoda, the two most difficult ones to find. The price is back to its normal $9.99 and fans will be happy to know that there are plenty to go around. I have a complete wave 1 and 2, with a few extra wave 2 figures.
It looks like there is still hope for you fans who have not been able to go out and complete your collection, or if you’d like to start collecting this is a great way to start. The 70’s style collection looks fantastic as well as the retro packaging that it comes in.
