Well, if you’re ready for a cartoon to make you feel something then this episode of The Clone Wars will do the trick. Order 66 is coming and so is the Galaxy’s spiral into turmoil. This episode takes place after the beginning of Episode 3 and right after Kenobi kills Grievous. Maul is prisoner to Ahsoka, but as we all know, his reign as a crime lord isn’t over yet.

The Jedi

There is tension between Ahsoka and the Jedi and its pretty clear. She still doesn’t feel welcomed by them and she has every right to. After her service in the war and everything she has done for the Galaxy, Ahsoka deserved more than how she’s treated.

the clone wars episode 11 Ahsoka and Rex share a moment, where they see the person behind the soldier in each other. The bond that these people have created with each other should last a lifetime, unfortunately, the end of their relationship is near.

Maul is locked up like Hannibal Lecter from The Silence of the Lambs in a device that is a testament to the Mandalorian’s culture and their ability to fight and imprison Jedi and other force wielders. That just goes to show the ability that they have to incapacitate Jedi. They are a force to be feared.

Execute Order 66

This is where the pain begins. Ahsoka can feel the disturbance in the force as Anakin helps Sidious kill Master Windu. It looks like Maul’s prediction has come true and there will be a new leading force in the galaxy.

Ahsoka is a survivor and as we have seen dozens of times through The Clone Wars, she’s an extremely intelligent “citizen”. She’s trapped on a clone command ship, so she is surrounded, along with Maul. Maul has no problem with navigating his way around the ship, even without a lightsaber and this shows how much of a survivor he is, too.

That is a well-known fact, Maul survived being split in half, I doubt a few clone troopers will be able to stop him. He is busy distracting the clones and causing mayhem in the ship, something he’s just as good at as surviving.

The Chip

The chip is something that Fives and found out about in season 6. There were a few episodes about him on Kamino discovering the secret of the inhibitor chip and that it follows all the way up to the top. His discoveries were looked at as conspiracy and covered up by the chancellor and the Kaminoans.

Fives was so close to saving the Jedi and so was Ahsoka. She had Maul in her grasp and was en route to the Jedi temple. Maul had all the information necessary on Sidious and his plan to destroy the Galaxy, if only they go there faster they could have changed everything.

Ahsoka, with the knowledge on the chip, is able to help Rex and this is how they are able to remain friends for life. A nice nod to Rogue One’s character Chirrut Imwe’s famous line, “I am one with the force and the force is with me” to help her find the hidden chip in Rex’s brain.

I have spoken

The irony of the soldiers wearing Ahsoka’s face pattern on their helmet while trying to murder her seems fitting to show the level of betrayal the Jedi experience. There is little that Ahsoka can do for the other Jedi and so she must save herself and Rex.

The next episode will premiere of Star Wars day, May 4th. This will be the season finale and the conclusion to The Clone Wars. We will be all caught up to Episode 3 and the events between Episodes 2 and 3 are now filled in.

The end of the Jedi is coming.
