How about that intro? The music, “A Lucasfilm Production” and then here we are in the sewers with Ahsoka and Maul. This episode has an extremely powerful cinematic feel to it and it immediately feels like George Lucas’ Star Wars.
The siege of Mandalore is underway, the last episode we saw Ahsoka and Bo Katan take some clone troopers to help. Meanwhile, Anakin and Obi-Wan went to save the chancellor, as we see in Episode 3. We left off with Ahsoka finding Maul in the sewers of the city and Bo Katan seizing the capital.
Episode 10 picks up at the Siege and the success Bo Katan, Ahsoka, and the clones had in liberating the city. Maul doesn’t know who Ahsoka is and he reveals some interesting information, his visions of who will be the next controlling interesting in the galaxy. He reveals who he sees at the top, Darth Sidious.
The Sewers
This episode is happening simultaneously to the events of Episode 3. Ahsoka faces off against Maul, but because she isn’t a part of his plan, so he flees to rethink it and take advantage of what he has before him. Maul has really proven to be an intelligent force in the galaxy. His brilliance has brought him from a half Dathomirian hiding in a cave to the leader of Mandalore.

Maul has pushed his way to the top, he’s successfully manipulated just about everyone in his path to get what he wants. It is clear how he was able to make it to the top of Crimson Dawn, now.
A familiar Name
Maul tells Ahsoka that he sees Darth Sidious as the next ruler of the galaxy and Ahsoka wants to learn more, but her clone troopers come to save her. Maul darts off and they lose their only chance for information on the subject.

Ahsoka reports to Kenobi what Maul told her and he shares to her what he learned for Dooku in Episode II, as well as the Jedi Council’s suspicion that the chancellor is Darth Sidious, the man who started and has been playing both sides of the Clone Wars. He shares to her that Anakin is on the job of reporting any suspicious activity on the chancellor and Ahsoka responds very similarly to how Anakin did.
She’s not proud of the sneaking around the Jedi are doing and she sees the Jedi in a completely different light after leaving. Her response shows how much she has changed and grown in her time away from the Jedi. Obi-Wan also expresses that he doesn’t agree with what they are doing. The Jedi are placing Anakin right in Sidious’s hands.
Ahsoka needs to learn information on Sidious and the only man to give it to them is Maul. Anakin has killed Dooku by this point, so there is nothing to be learned from him. All he was able to do was a hint to what was to come. Kenobi should have asked more questions on Geonosis.
Jesse Captured
Jesse and a few other troopers were trying to secure a dock when Maul and his Mandalorians attacked them. He was able to take them all out while taking one prisoner for some information on Ahsoka. Maul wanted to take advantage of the situation at hand, he knows that information is power.
Maul, while underground tells the other crime syndicates to go into hiding and avoid the chaos that is going to come. His visions show of a new galaxy forged from chaos and in that chaos he and his followers must seize the power that will be up for grabs.

The visions that Maul has are his advantage to what will come and how he will be able to survive everything going on.
Ahsoka goes with Bo Katan to talk with Almec and find out what they about Sidious from him. Almec, right before dying, admits that he has not heard the name Sidious before, but he has heard the name Skywalker. The music that follows is ominous and fits the scene perfectly. We’ve heard that same music before and the creators did an excellent job with bringing that back for this episode.
We Meet Again
Maul is back in the capital, waiting for Ahsoka now that he has all this information on her. He gives them back Jesse unharmed because he got everything he needed from him and if he wants to turn Ahsoka, he needs to return him alive. Maul uses all this new information to try and dissuade Ahsoka from fighting for the Republic and to join Maul as his apprentice.
In an attempt to learn more, Ahsoka agrees only if he answers a question, that he wants with Anakin. The only problem is that he doesn’t want Anakin, it’s Sidious that does. Anakin, according to Maul is not going to bring balance to the force, but destruction, something that he’s been groomed for all his life.
The windows shatter around them and neither of them flinch, showing how battle-hardened these two warriors have become.
Ahsoka doesn’t like the sound of Anakin being the one who destroys the galaxy and they fight again. The two have it out and show their skills, Maul is an aggressive fighter who came at Ahsoka with a lot of power, but Ahsoka was able to fight him off. Her maneuverability comes in handy and she’s too quick for Maul.

On top of the city
The battle continues between the two after Ahsoka kicked him out of the building and through a window. He flees to escape the planet because he sees he Mandalorian forces have lost and the Republic has helped to liberate the city.
Ahsoka finds him up above the city waiting for his ship. She knows her mission is to stop and capture Maul at all costs so the Jedi can uncover the truth about Sidious. The timing is getting real close to when Sidious unleashes Order 66. Kenobi at the beginning of the episode lets Ahsoka know that he is after Grevious on Utapuu. In Episode 3, this is where Kenobi is when his clone troopers turn and attack him.

Ahsoka and Maul duel where his power overcomes Ahsoka and she loses her lightsabers, but his powerful strikes aren’t as controlled as Ahsoka’s and she is able to dodge his strikes and eventually best Maul, throwing him off the loth-catwalk.
She catches him with the force and this is where Maul gets captured by the Republic. The next episode will uncover more mysteries and how Maul is able to still get to the top of the crime syndicates even after getting captured here.
I have spoken
The shift in the galaxy is approaching and the Jedi are running out of time. Ahsoka is so close to uncovering the mystery of Sidious’ identity. Anakin is already on his assignment to spy on the chancellor and report if he finds any suspicious activity. We know how it all plays out, but how will Sidious accomplish everything even after being so closely discovered by a few different people.
The conclusion is approaching as there are only two episodes left. What will happen to Maul next week? Will the Jedi get the information they need from him?
Thank you for reading and may the force be with you.
