The Disney+ hit show, The Mandalorian, featured a beloved character from The Clone Wars and brought her to live-action form. Rosario Dawson was the person who brought this character to life and had done an outstanding job in the role of a grown-up, battle-hardened ex-Jedi.
The survivor had helped Grogu and Djarin, became friends with Luke Skywalker, and freed a planet from a faction of the Empire on her journey to find Thrawn and Ezra. Her role was well received, and fans hoped to see more of the ex-Jedi.
That excitement of season 2 had led to her getting a spin-off show. Ahsoka was then confirmed and began filming in May 2022. The scale of a show like this one takes a while to film and develop, but in a recent interview with Screen Rant, Dawson gave an update on filming:
Yes, we’re still filming it right now. We just have a couple months left. It’s going great. It’s really amazing learning martial arts in my 40s. [Laughs] It’s super amazing, and I don’t use that word very lightly. My grandmother used to say, ‘Amazing is two blue horses,’ if you ever said something was amazing. Because it’d be like, ‘No, amazing is two blue horses. That pizza slice probably isn’t amazing.’

It appears filming is not the only thing she’s been doing. Training to become a martial art expert to make the fighting in the series that much more life-like makes this an exciting endeavor. Dawson is taking her role as the fan-favorite Ahsoka seriously.
The show is set to premiere sometime in 2023, and with filming still a few months away, the show will most likely premiere sometime late that year. There is a lot of excitement surrounding the plot, and her role in The Mandalorian hints at her desire to find Thrawn.Â
The Rebels season finale ended with Ezra sacrificing himself to save Ahsoka and the Ghost crew and was taken to an unknown location in the Galaxy with Thrawn via Purrgil. Neither died and as The Mandalorian suggests, Thrawn is alive and in control. There has been no confirmation of the plot, but that is the leading theory.
Andor premieres September 21st and will kick off with 3 episodes. The Bad Batch season 2 will premiere a week after that. Season 3 of The Mandalorian will come out sometime in February 2023. Ming-Na Wen, the actress who plays Fennec Shand, is optimistic about a Book of Boba Fett season 2.
