No, the ship is not officially named “Boba Fett’s Starship” as seen on the recent LEGO release of the ship. Disney has given this ship an official new name far different from the original “Slave I” that was named by the creator, George Lucas. Thanks to The Mandalorian, we got to see Boba Fett in the spotlight like never before. He had been given far more lines than in the Original Trilogy, which allowed him to seriously solidify himself as one of the greatest characters to come out of the franchise.
The Mandalorian brought our Mandalorian bounty hunter back from the dead. He survived his fall into the Sarlacc Pit, and although he survived in the expanded universe, it is now official canon that Boba Fett made it out alive. In The Mandalorian: Chapter 9, we learned how Cobb Vanth got his armor, but later on, in Chapter 14, we got to see Boba Fett put on the armor and return as the iconic man in green armor.
His ship, which is just as iconic as his armor, had made an appearance, too. After Djarin’s Razorcrest was blown up by the Empire, it was up to Boba Fett and his ship to help save the day and recover the child.
Boba Fett’s starship also made a dramatic appearance in Chapter 15, where we got to see the seismic charge again. One of the greatest sounds in the Star Wars universe, fans were ecstatic to see Boba Fett’s starship do what it did to Obi-Wan Kenobi in the prequels. That is another piece of Boba Fett that has helped to solidify him as the iconic character.
THE NAME CHANGE
The debate for the ship’s name had furthered his name in the Star Wars franchise. LEGO had released a new set that featured his ship but dropped the name that is so familiar. The LEGO box reads, “Boba Fett’s Starship” but thanks to the Star Wars comic series, we have been given a new, better name. His starship will now be known as “Firespray.”
Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters is a comic series that focuses on the race to capture Han Solo for Jabba the Hutt. The series focuses on the best bounty hunters that money can buy, and Boba Fett is, of course, one of them. The comic series will feature each Bounty Hunter on the cover with their iconic ships, and in the recent press release for Villanelli’s variant covers had revealed that:

The new comic series will release in September. Though the name may sound a bit strange, they did not pull it out of thin air. The name comes from the type of ship it is. The ship is a Firespray-31-class patrol and attack craft developed by Kuat Systems Engineering. They were originally designed and used to patrol the prison moon Oovo IV.
This is the first that we have heard of this new name. The official name for the ship on the Star Wars website is still “Slave I” but the name will most likely remain that way until the comics are available for purchase. The Book of Boba Fett will most likely use this name, as well, but we won’t know for sure until its premiere in December.
