Star Wars has already had a long run and it’s only going to get longer. The live-action shows that are scheduled to premiere on Disney+ will keep the spirit alive and bring Star Wars to every home weekly. The Mandalorian has already proved how successful that can be when it took the spot as #1 streamed show in America. And it doesn’t stop there, we are going to get a whole new set of movies, a trilogy of books, and much more.

It looks like Rosario Dawson has signed a multi-show contract with Disney. This means that Disney is potentially interested in Ahsoka Tano being featured in more shows. She successfully made the leap from The Clone Wars to Rebels and has proven to keep fans intrigued.

Ahsoka Tano, going to be played by Rosario Dawson, is rumored to be featured in The Mandalorian and the way it's looking, she'll only be featured for an episode or two. This is an opportunity that Disney is taking to introduce a live-action Ahsoka Tano and use this as a backdoor pilot for her show. Which makes a lot of sense because Rosario Dawson is a well known and successful actress.

This type of contract was commonly seen in the MCU contract deals, the way they appear in their own and other movies. The characters are strategically placed through out the films to fit with the MCU. They were able to loosely connect other characters, heroes, and villains to make it all look like one universe, Disney will be doing the same here.

This can help keep the live-action series pumping out while creating new stories that fit in with the Star Wars we know. The Mandalorian has successfully integrated itself into Star Wars and the fans have welcomed it with open arms. Why stop there?

The Mandalorian, which is pre-The Force Awakens will give us a glimpse where Ahsoka is a few years after the Empire falls. We know at the end of Rebels she left with Sabine to look for Ezra, so we'll hopefully find out if she had any luck. Perhaps she and Ezra have established a safe-haven for force sensitives around the galaxy and this is where the child can go.

Ahsoka has taken fans by storm in both The Clone Wars and Rebels. She’s gotten her arch in the newest season of The Clone Wars, she’s been featured in dozens of episodes and she faces off with Vader in Rebels and lives. She’s grown up a lot since being Anakin’s padawan and Dawson’s age will reflect this.

Dawson, age 40, will be able to tell a new story of Ahsoka in her involvement with The Mandalorian and her show. We’ve seen Ahsoka grow up and her newest arch in The Clone Wars is telling us where she went after leaving the Jedi Order. It seems that Disney is interested in telling more of her story and how she can help to bring peace to the galaxy.

This will also offer the possibility of Djarin giving the child to Ahsoka and the other force sensitives and going back to his bounty hunting career. Djarin can return to his former life and The Mandalorian will follow him as a bounty hunter, while we still get to hold onto precious Baby Yoda when he goes off with Ahsoka to be featured in her show.

There’s something else to look forward to but with everything going on I’m sure it’s delayed. The second season of The Mandalorian has finished shooting and is going to release in October. The Cassian Andor show will begin filming soon and Obi-Wan’s show will begin in January. Judging by the success of Ahsoka in The Mandalorian, we’ll see if she’s going to get her own show.

Thank you for reading and may the force be with you. Stay safe everyone.

  1. Ahh, you’re learning grasshopper. 🙂

I came to the same possible conclusion after our last exchange here. I *doubt* Disney is stupid enough to ruin Mandalorian by turning it into Rebels 2. It just dilutes the talent too muich. I can’t rule it out but I think it’s unlikely.

Far more likely is the conclusion we both reached. Rosario Dawson is lead talent, not a second stringer. Ergo, its likely that Disney is going to use the Mandalorian as a chance to test the waters for various spin-off shows. Semi-regular team-ups with a fully grown and better seasoned Sabine would be fun though. Talk about a wrecking crew, LOL.

    1. I catch on quick 😉
I think it would be foolish if they overdid it in Mandalorian with brining in already familiar characters. Mando is already good enough to not need such expensive and talented help. Using it as a backdoor for her own show makes the most sense. Ahsoka is a huge favorite and it would be a waste to bring her to live-action only for an episode or two, her getting her own show makes the most sense.

      1. Yep, I concur. I think we’re on the right track. How long ol’ Rex has left is anyone’s guess though. He’s gotta to be OLD (like older than me!) in Post Empire days.
