Disney+ is releasing the first-ever Live-Action Star Wars T.V. show and it is supposed to be awesome. The show is to set place after Return of the Jedi, following the collapse of the Empire and before the New Order is established. Just like all the movies, the genre will be a Western, which seems extremely fitting considering we’ll be following an outlaw bounty hunter as he makes his living out of the reach of the New Republic. The show is to be released November 12th and the monthly cost for a Disney+ membership is set at $7 a month, which is cheaper than its competitor Netflix. Also differing from its competitors, Disney+ will be releasing a new episode a week. No more binge-watching an entire season in a weekend and this might be a good thing, because discussions between each episode will be more prevalent, no more spoilers when looking up anything about the show, and the anticipation will make each episode so much better.

This show seems to be in good hands, too. The producers for the show are Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, who both worked on the Clone Wars. Filoni was a director and writer for Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Favreau was the voice of Pre Vizsla, a part that lasted two years. Both of them have worked closely with George Lucas and have a deep understanding of the Star Wars Canon. Favreau even went to Skywalker Ranch for a cooking show of his on Netflix, inspired by his movie Chef. With the knowledge that these two have to offer and with the budget that Disney can put out, it seems that this show has a lot of potential to be next level. We can only hope so, considering these new Disney Star Wars films have been a little disappointing. There are plenty of new characters and planets to broaden the Star Wars galaxy. The starring actors of the show will be, Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, and Nick Nolte.

• The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) is the main character of the show. He’s a bounty hunter and one of the best. He has the signature Mandalorian armor, but judging from the trailers, we see that he’s put some pieces together because not all the pieces are the same color.
• Cara Dune (Gina Carano) a mercenary who used to be a Rebel-shock Trooper, has some experience through fighting in the civil war. She seems like she’ll be a real deadly component to the show.
• IG-11 (Taika Waititi) is a bounty hunter droid that seems to be partnered up with The Mandalorian. He looks just like IG-88, the droid bounty hunter that was hired by Darth Vader, so it’s fair to say these droids are pretty infamous in the galaxy.
• Nick Nolte who’s character remains undisclosed, so there will definitely be some surprises.
• Greef Marda (Carl Weathers) is the leader of the bounty-hunting squad that hires The Mandalorian.
• Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) is an Imperial Warlord somehow managing to stay in some power and he has a pose of Deathtrooper bodyguards. The Deathtroopers are the elite of the Stormtroopers and are infamous for being deadly warriors.

The show is stacked with a roster of some great actors, which makes it even more exciting. The talent is from all different aspects of Hollywood, too. We see stars from Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Fast and Furious, the MCU, and Carl freaking Weathers. There’s no way these actors won’t be able to carry the show when the writing or directing isn’t exactly where it should be. With a budget like Disney’s an all-star cast like this one is not a surprise. The directors, actors, funding, and accessibility are all there and this show has the potential to be groundbreaking. Could The Mandalorian be the revival that Disney sort of desperately needs? Or will it be a fluke like Episode 8? We can only find out on November 12th, with fingers crossed, may the force be with us all.
